Dr. M. Özgür FALCIOGLU is an associate professor of commercial law. F.L.O is particularly strong in the field of administrative law. Dr.. Egemen Falcioglu is specialized on administrative and tax law. Mr. FALCIOGLU has a Phd degree on economic regulation and regulatory agencies.. We have represented many clients in various levels of administrative courts and council of state and before governmental authorities. We have expertise on litigation of administrative cases related to Energy, Banking, Securities Exchange and competition law, Administrative Licenses, Zoning and Municipal issues, Monetary Fines and Tax Law.
Communication & Media Law
F.L.O has extensive experience in media and communication law and has represented one of Turkey’s largest media conglomerates. We provide a wide-range of legal services to our media clients, including negotiation and preparing of media related contracts, advice on regulatory issues and procurement of required governmental approvals.
Competition & Anti-trust
We advise our clients on Turkish antitrust law. Our legal services include advising and obtaining competition clearance with the national competition authority.
Intellectual Property
Mr. Falcioglu is a trademark attorney. F.L.O provides legal advice to clients on all aspects of the exploitation and use of intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, database rights, know-how and unfair competition as well as protection of computer programs. We negotiate and draft intellectual property agreements, licensing agreements, transfer agreements of registered trademarks and patents, technical assistance agreements, technology transfer agreements, management agreements, distribution agreements, and franchising agreements. We also prepare and prosecute applications for trademark and service mark registrations.
Energy Law
F.L.O provides legal services include drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalizing agreements and documents related to energy projects and transactions. We have negotiated and concluded contracts as well as other related transactions for the transfer of licences for hydroelectric dams and have advised on numerous energy, power and gas projects involved in BOT and BOO type of projects. Ms. ORAL has extensive experience on energy and environmental law.
Litigation and Arbitration
F.L.O is experienced in litigation and international arbitration. Mr. Falcioglu obtained training from the International Chamber of Commerce and worked at the Asian Counsel. F. L.O handles all types of corporate, commercial and administrative litigation at all levels. We also execute and defend arbitral awards before national courts. Ms. Oral is also an experienced litigator from California.
Banking and Finance
We advise our clients on all aspects of banking and finance law, including regulatory banking and corporate matters. We provide legal opinions to foreign banks regarding their transactions with local banks and customers. Our banking and finance practice also includes drafting and structuring financing agreements, guarantee agreements, international and local security packages, asset finance, project finance, syndicated loans and other financing transactions. F.L.O is also experienced in banking litigation.
Construction
F.L.O has extensive experience in the areas of construction law including contract and dispute resolution. We advise one of the largest construction companies in Turkey on their operations regarding transport construction projects, such as major motorways and airports. The firm’s founding partner Mr. Falcioglu has worked extensively on power and energy project involving large power plants, dams, gas pipelines, and other power generation projects.
Telecommunications
We provide regulatory advice on all aspects of the telecommunications industry including voice and data carriage and the mobile, value added services. Ms. Oral has acted as legal counsel for a major international telecommunications on a multi-billion dollar telecommunication tendering for cellular telephone networks. We are advising clients in relation with various licensing issues.
Maritime law
The members of the Firm have significant experience in shipping law. The firm advises on a broad range of maritime law including ship building and finance, ship arrest, oil spills and environmental damage. Ms. Oral has experience working with the Turkish administration having served as an advisor to Turkish government on a number of issues including oil transportation, pipelines, international marine environmental law and law of the sea. Ms. Oral has also worked with a number of large energy companies on oil transport and environmental issues.
Internet Law and Electronic Commerce
F.L.O has a wide range of experience in the areas of internet law and electronic commerce. Dr. Falcioglu written extensively on the law of internet and he lectures on the law of electronic commerce in law faculties and is the author of one of the first books written on the subject matter in Turkey. The firm provides legal advice on a range of issues including intellectual property and criminal law. Mr. Falcioglu serves as counsel to one of the largest e-government projects. Our clients include internet service providers (ISPs), mobile telephone operators and other IT companies.
